As a Detroit wedding photographer, it is always such an honor when I get to document your love from the beginning. This surprise proposal was so special and I am so happy for James and Christina!

James and I have known each other since middle school. It seems like we have known each other forever and it has been such a joy to witness the love they share since we have the same friend group! This surprise proposal was so fun and I cannot wait to photograph their wedding next fall in Long Island at the gorgeous Giorgio’s Baiting Hollow venue!

James & Christina got engaged at Joe Riley Waterfront Park in Charleston, South Carolina. After finishing up her semester at college, James and Christina decided to take a weekend trip to Charleston. Before their dinner reservation, James had suggested they check out the park where the famous pineapple fountain is located. Once in front of the fountain, James got down on one knee and proposed to Christina. After she said yes, her childhood best friend surprised her by being at the proposal. She lives in New York and James decided to fly her in to celebrate! 

We continued to venture around Charleston and ended the evening with dinner to celebrate! I am so happy and excited for my dear friends’ surprise proposal and cannot wait to celebrate the two next year. While I am primarily a Detroit wedding photographer, I am always available for travel and ready to document your love!
